Conversion of boards from Throughhole technology to SMD: Surface
Mount Technology (SMT) has come of age & the modern SMT assembly
process has become very reliable & stable with near zero assembly errors. The cost
of SMT assembly has also come down drastically which has prompted the design houses
to convert their existing Throughhole Designs into SMT.
In this regard, we offer support services to the design houses in converting their
existing design to become SMT compatible designs.
- Study of the existing BOM & the Schematic.
- Finding out equivalent compatible parts in SMD version, for each of the throughholed
Parts in the BOM.
- Manufacturer / Supplier analysis, preparation of Master specifications & I of the
same in BOM.
- Modification of the existing Schematic / Layout to incorporate the new footprints
as per Standard Layout Practice.
